DAY 1: ARRIVE NAIROBI – SAMBURU GAME RESERVE (350kms approximately 6.5 hrs)

On arriva at JKIA, you will be met by our representative and transferred to and drive across the Equator to the edge of the Northern Frontier and make for semi-desert bush country to the Samburu Game Reserve. Arrival will be in time for lunch at the lodge. Enjoy an evening game drive in the reserve. Dinner and overnight at Lodge/camp

DAY 2: SAMBURU GAME RESERVE

Early morning game drive. Return to the lodge/camp for breakfast. Rest of morning at leisure. Lunch at the lodge/camp. Samburu Game Reserve is situated in the hot and arid fringes of Kenya’s vast Northern Frontier District. The area is home to the Samburu tribe, pastoral relatives of the Masai. Samburu Reserve as a safari destination has rugged and dramatic landscape; the Owasso Nyiro River runs along the southern boundary dividing Samburu Game Reserve and is also home to crocodile and hippo with the many animals visiting to drink during the heat of the day. Samburu offers sighting of buffalo, lion, leopard, cheetah and other plains game. Species of game unique to Samburu game reserve include the beisa Oryx, the long necked Gerenuk, Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe and the blue shanked Somali ostrich. Afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at the lodge/camp.

DAY 3: SAMBURU RESERVE – ABERDARE NATIONAL PARK (200kms approximately 4hrs)

Breakfast at the lodge/camp. Depart for Aberdare National Park. On arrival at the base hotel which is Aberdare Country Club you will enjoy lunch and drop the excess luggage. After lunch drive through the forest to reach your tree hotel where the night is spent watching the never ending pageant of wildlife which visits the floodlit waterhole and saltlick below. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

DAY 4: ABERDARE NATIONAL PARK-LAKENAKURU NATIONAL PARK (130kms approximately 2hrs)

Breakfast at the lodge. During the morning cross the tip of the Aberdare Mountains stopping briefly to admire 73m plunge of Thompson’s Falls, named after the Scots explorer who first saw the Falls in 1884. Another stop is provided at the Equator. Arrive in time for lunch. This shallow soda lake has been famous for its flamingos but has also retained its reputation as an ornithologists’ delight with more than 400 species of bird found here. You may get out of the vehicle at the lake shore to get a closer look at the birds. The nearby cliffs offer sightings of baboons, birds of prey and scurrying hyraxes, as well as great views of the park. The national park covers 180 sq km and is home to warthogs, waterbuck, buffaloes, reedbucks, and the occasional leopard as well as white and black rhinos which were introduced to the park some years ago. Afternoon game drive. Afternoon visit to Lake Nakuru National Park where the sight of flamingos cannot be forgotten. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge.

DAY 5: LAKE NAKURU – MASAI MARA GAME RESERVE (345kms approximately 7.5hrs)

Breakfast at the lodge. Depart for Masai Mara Game Reserve. Arrive in time for lunch. Enjoy an evening game drive in this famous park. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

DAY 6: – MASAI MARA GAME RESERVE

Early morning balloon safari is available as an option at USD 450 per person. The Balloon launches at 0600hrs and takes one hour. On landing you will be welcomed with a champagne bush breakfast.

Full day of game viewing whereby you leave the lodge after breakfast with picnic lunch.

The Mara is the land of African legend: Lion are abundant throughout the park, as are the elephants, giraffes, and a variety of gazelle species and zebra. Cheetah and leopard are also regularly seen and, less commonly, rhino. The annual wildebeest migration, one of nature’s few remaining wildlife spectacles, occurs in the Mara from July to September where the big animals and their predators are to be present in abundance during the time frame of this trip. Several species of Bee-Eater, the flying rainbow that heads the list of the Mara’s birds, occur in the reserve. As well as wildlife, the Maasai Mara is also home to many members of the colorful Maasai tribe who may be seen around the borders of the park – Morans (warriors) loping across the plains, young boys herding goats, or elders grouped under a tree discussing matters of the day. Dinner and overnight at Lodge/Camp.

DAY 7: MASAI MARA – NAIROBI (250kms approximately 5hrs)

Early morning game drive. Breakfast at the lodge. Depart for Nairobi. A stopover is provided at Narok Town to browse in the bustling, vibrant Masai markets to buy curios and handicrafts. On arrival in Nairobi ,drop off at the airport for your departure flight or transfer to a city hotel
